Dr. Kirk Chambers was born in Vancouver, B.C. and completed high school at University Hill Secondary School in Point Grey, Vancouver. After completing High School, Dr. Chambers enrolled in Aviation Technology at Selkirk College in Castlegar B.C. After obtaining his pilots license, Dr. Chambers worked as a commercial pilot for 6 years in the Canadian north where he discovered that he would like to pursue a more academic career.

Dr Chambers graduated from the University of Alberta Dentistry program in 1989. Following graduation from the University of Alberta Dental program, Dr. Chambers completed a one year hospital residency program after which he began providing dental treatment under IV Sedation to rural communities thereby combining his love of flying with dentistry.

In 1997 Dr Chambers took over the anaesthetic practice of Dr Kay Burnham in Edmonton, Alberta. Dental Service Group, as it is now called, continues as a private surgical dental facility in the Edmonton area where Dr Chambers continues to practice as the senior dentist. When Dr. Chambers is not at work in Edmonton, he can usually be found off on a working or recreational adventure!

When not working, Dr Chambers is an avid backcountry skier and cyclist and divides his time between Edmonton and Vancouver with his wife, Jeanne and their two dogs, Piper and Wes.

Dr. Mary McLay is excited to be part of the team at Driftwood Dental. Mary grew up in Prince George and received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Victoria. After spending two years traveling in Central America, South America, and Nepal, she then completed a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Oncology at the University of British Columbia, where she published four journal articles with the BC Cancer Agency. Mary then initiated the transition to dentistry to work in a more hands-on and patient-oriented role, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of British Columbia. She is dedicated to delivering comprehensive and compassionate dental care while providing a friendly and positive experience for all her patients.

Outside of the dental clinic, Mary enjoys spending time in the mountains hiking, biking, camping, and skiing, and on the water paddle boarding. She is excited to be back in Northern BC and is looking forward to exploring the beautiful Bulkley Valley.

Dr. Sam Obamiyi has been a dentist since 2004 and has had the privilege of being involved in dentistry in Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States and now in Canada. Dr. Obamiyi is registered in British Columbia as a Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He completed a residency training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester, NY.

He also completed a Fellowship in Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Orofacial Pain in addition to Masters in Health Professions Education, all at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, USA. Sam enjoys the science and art of putting beautiful and healthy smiles on the faces of his patients through the practice of orthodontics. He is a passionate researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications, he has presented some of his research work at several dental conferences both locally and internationally.

He is a member of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Alberta Dental Association and College, Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists and a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontists. He is an avid sports lover and particularly enjoys watching and playing soccer and basketball. He enjoys spending time with his family, they particularly enjoy making Tiktok videos. Together with his wife, they have one daughter.

Dr. Jeannine Ray was born in Ontario and grew up in the small state of Delaware. She received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Delaware and moved west to accept a University Graduate Fellowship with UBC.

As a graduate student, she published two journal articles of her research and completed a Master of Science degree in Physiology. Interested in working with people and her hands, Dr. Ray pursued Dentistry at UBC where she continued with research and co-authored two additional journal articles before graduating with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2001.

Jeannine enjoys all facets of general dentistry and loves to get to know her patients. She is a member of the International Association of Orthodontics, the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C., the B.C. Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association.

Dr. Ray fell in love with the Bulkley Valley in 2001 when she joined the Driftwood Dental team. When not at work she loves painting, writing, skiing. hiking, camping and traveling. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Dr. Julie Cleworth grew up in the small town of Lac La Hache in British Columbia. After graduating from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Dr. Cleworth spent a year abroad working, traveling and exploring Europe. During this time she decided to continue her studies and graduated from UBC Dentistry in 2001 in the top 10% of her class.

Julie loves the diversity dentistry offers. She is able to connect with her patients while pursuing her many interests.

She is also a member of the International Association of Orthodontics, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C., the B.C. Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association.

Dr. Cleworth has been living and practicing in the Bulkley Valley since 2001. In her off time she enjoys the Valley's many recreational opportunities. As an avid fan of the outdoors, she enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, camping, fishing, golfing, paddle boarding and you'll even find her out on the ice playing hockey.
